When we are surrounded by enemies and are bound completely, we feel helpless. It takes immense strength and intellect to come out of that situation. We usually see that in movies and we call them heros. But have you witnessed God’s strength in such situations. Let’s have a look.
Peter was kept in prison with four squads of soldiers. he was bound with two chains betweeen two soldiers. He was completely shackled with no way to escape. There was no hope for him. Jews and Herod were waiting for Peter to get killed. Just a night before Peter being excecuted, an angel of the Lord appeared to Peter and woke him up. When the angel said “arise quickly”, his chains fell off his hands. Just two words and Peter was free from his shackles. Now when they were moving out, the iron gate that lead to the city opened to them. The gate is difficult to open manually. The main gate which kept the prison from the city was opened on its own only to Peter. And Peter was delivered from the hand of Herod and all the expectations of the Jews.
Maybe Peter could be delivered in a worldly manner which needs heavy planning and excecution. But the success is not guaranteed. But God did it in a very simple way and no one could stop his rescue. Chains could’nt hold Peter anymore and the iron gate could’nt stop his way out. If you are surrounded by the ones who want to kill you, you cannot be touched if God doesn’t allow them.
In 1 Samuel 5, the Philistines capture the ark of the Lord and bring it into the house of the dagon and set it by Dagon. The next day, when the people of Ashdod came early in the morning, they saw Dagon fallen to his face before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and set in its place again. The next day again, Dagon was fallen to the ground before the ark of the Lord but now the head of Dagon and both the palms of its hand were broken off on the threshold.
Being surrounded by our enemies is not a favourable situation for us, but it is not an unfavourable situation for God. There is not a place where God’s hand cannot be revealed. He has no boundaries, no limits. Be it a lion’s den, a prison, chains or any situation you feel is your end, God can still deliver you. His name is above all names. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. No body or thing can refuse his act of rescuing. If you are in the world’s darkest place or somewhere where you feel there is no hope and this is the end, fear not. Ask the Jesus for help. No man, no god, no stronghold, no demon can stand against his power.
If you feel there is no rescue and no one can save you from your darkness, ask Jesus for help. He will surely rescue you and deliver you from the hand of your predators. Even if they show all their strength and might to destroy you, you cannot be touched because they cannot stand agianst God’s strength. God bless you and rescue you. Amen.
